Day 147 – 26th May

Ninety Years Young

First full day in the States: big family gathering to celebrate my girlfriend’s Gram’s 90th birthday! Great weather, cold beers and some of the best BBQ food I’ve ever had!

Ninety! Absolutely amazing…

And this was the first time I got to meet ‘Gram’, as she was introduced, so I had the pleasure of finding out first hand how wonderful she is! Until now, I’d only heard stories. Decidedly spritely for someone born in 1922, with a cracking sense of humour and a definite cheeky side to her. When Gram approached the table, replete with cake and surrounded by family, she promptly whips up some of the frosting with her finger, and pops it into her mouth! I bet that smile is the same one she’d have had when she was just a girl…

May we all live to see our ninetieth year, and still be so young at heart.
